It’s right for you if…

Political Science

The degree programmes of the Political Science area are right to you if you are interested in juridical, economic and political science fields; if you like to keep abreast of what is happening around the world; if you follow the public debate; if you are interested in understanding its complexity and developing a critical awareness of different countries, also thanks to the knowledge of foreign languages; if you wish to work in non-governmental, union and party organisations, in research institutes and bodies working for social and cultural cooperation, in the third sector.

Sociology

Sociology is right for you if you are interested in studying the phenomena of contemporary society. You will be required critical thinking and logical skills to plan your empirical research; then, you will become a professional able to collect, process and interpret data with a scientific approach.

As a social worker, you will be not only skilled in providing personal care services, but also in promoting social citizenship by intervening on groups, families, territorial communities and institutions, and you will be able to work both with a subordinate employment and as a free-lancer.

By studying International Economic Relations, you may combine your interest in economics with your passion for the European institutions, the international framework and the relations among countries. You will become a professional able to interpret and analyse the international economy phenomena in a globalised world, both in the public and private sector. You will not only acquire an in-depth knowledge of the international economy, but will also learn how to use quantitative tools, both statistical and mathematical.

Communication

Such programmes are right for you if you are a keen communicator, if you like writing, being in touch with the public, making presentations, facilitating and improving written and oral communication with other people. Before choosing, it would be advisable to make out your areas of interest and what you would like to specialise in: journalism, political communication, visual and multimedia communication are very different!

About us

The Department of Political Sciences provides an education encompassing historical, juridical, socio-political, economic and linguistic sciences, by rousing a comparative approach to the international framework. The comparison with the variable scenarios of our age becomes therefore the opportunity for an in-depth interdisciplinary study focused on the challenges of the political, institutional and administrative innovation.

The Department of Social and Economic Sciences results from the merger of the Department of Social Sciences and the Department of Economic and Social Analyses. The Department aims to train experts able to contribute to the development of social and economic sciences, but also professionals provided with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to be spent in various frameworks of the contemporary social organisation.

The Department of Communication and Social Research witnesses the concentration in Sapienza of the Italian widest community of communication and social  teachers and researchers: a wealth that turns into an extensive offer of programmes and courses of study in the field of communication, technologies and applied social research.
